Paola Luca, MD, MSc, is also a pediatric endocrinologist at Alberta Children’s Hospital. She graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School and did her residency training in pediatrics and fellowship training in pediatric endocrinology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. She completed a Master of Science during her pediatric endocrine fellowship, where she studied outcomes of a pediatric lifestyle clinic. Her research interests include childhood and adolescent obesity including the evaluation of pediatric weight management programs and identifying patient characteristics that predict treatment outcomes. She also has a strong interest in teaching medical students and residents, and quality improvement initiatives.
