Kelly Burak, MD, MSc (Epid), FRCPC is a specialist in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, as well as an expert the field of Liver Transplantation, completing fellowships at the University of Calgary and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. An award-winning educator, he received his Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education from Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia, and was awarded the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology Young Educator Award in 2010. Dr. Burak’s clinical research interests include liver transplantation and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). He has been an active academic contributor, publishing more than 50 peer reviewed publications and acting as a principal investigator on more than 20 clinical trials centering on viral, malignant, and autoimmune causes of liver disease.
